- Reconcile insurance and patient payments, ensuring all payments are correctly recorded and posted in a timely manner
- Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve outstanding balances
- Assist with the preparation of month-end financial reports by ensuring all payments are accurately posted
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, billing procedures, and industry regulations to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and operations, to troubleshoot and resolve payment discrepancies
- Process payment adjustments and write-offs as needed based on payer agreements
- Track and report trends in payment discrepancies or delays to identify potential issues in the revenue cycle
- Assist with audits and support the internal control processes to ensure proper documentation of all transactions
- Provide support for patient billing inquiries related to insurance payments and balances
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance when handling sensitive financial information
- Performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as needed to support the billing team and ensure smooth operation of the revenue cycle
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year of experience in payment posting or healthcare billing
- Experience with Central Reach
- Familiarity with insurance billing, EOBs, and electronic remittance files
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have and maintain in good standing professional license, certificate, or registration, as applicable.

This job generally operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
