The Director of Diagnostic Services is responsible for identifying and completing diagnostic assessments and/or psychological testing and providing a comprehensive and conclusive evaluation for clients. This employee ensures consistency in the implementation of Surpass Behavioral Health policies and that all psychological and/or diagnostic services are evidence-based practices within the scope of the field. The position confirms quality by remaining up to date with best practice and current research in the field. The position also ensures processes and procedures are in line with federal and state funding regulations, as well as with the company’s guiding principles and mission.

This position operates with oversight and guidance from the Chief Clinical Officer in carrying out the essential duties and responsibilities to provide overall leadership, quality assurance, and clinical support for psychological and diagnostic services at Surpass Behavioral Health.

This is a hybrid remote position, working onsite out of our Bowling Green, Murray, and Hopkinsville clinics.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Provides a full range of psychological and/or diagnostic assessments, including scoring, interpretation, diagnostic reporting, clinical recommendations, and feedback for individuals seeking diagnostic services
  • Coordinates with intake department and local referral sources to identify and progress needs for diagnostic services by location
  • Maintains condition and inventory of assessment materials, protocols, and accessories
  • Collaborates with the Director of Compliance as needed to support external audit requests (payor, regulatory, or otherwise) by retrieving and reviewing any requested information
  • Identifies areas for training and develops or sources training content as needed
  • Participates in community outreach and marketing events as appropriate
  • As the diagnostic division expands and new diagnosticians are added:
    • Assists with interview, hiring, and on-boarding processes for new hires providing psychological and diagnostic services, as needed
    • Completes performance evaluations, including performance feedback and goal setting, for reporting diagnosticians, as needed
    • Assists in supporting diagnostician staff in the selection, administration, and interpretation of assessment instruments; and oversees application of diagnostic criteria, clinical conclusions, and clinical recommendations; reviews clinical reports and documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance with best practices.
    • Oversees quality of assessment administration and clinical reports, ensuring that appropriate feedback is given as needed based on SBH policy, individual needs, and best practices of the field

We are looking for a compassionate Director of Diagnostic Services with:

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in clinical psychology, or related field as appropriate
  • An autonomous licensed psychologist, licensed psychological practitioner (LPP) in good standing with state regulatory agencies, required
  • Minimum of five (5) years prior post-degree clinical experience, and minimum of two (2) years leadership or supervisory experience
  • Expert knowledge of scientifically validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit individuals with psychological and developmental disorders, including familiarity with current related research findings
  • Knowledge of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) practices, the APA Ethical Principals of Psychologists and Code of Conduct, with strict adherence to these policies
  • Valid CPR certification and/or other medical and training requirements as specified by funding sources, or ability to obtain
  • Valid state driver’s license with appropriate endorsement
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and spend time on your feet as well as the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. on occasion. Note: this role often requires the ability to spend a significant amount of time crouching, crawling, and engaging with children on the floor or standing for long periods of time.
